Show Notes

In todays episode we met with Alexandra Andre: a coach, runner, author, speaker, mum and all round inspirational human being!

She talked to us about her approach to running a marathon and an ironman, and what it meant to break through her own barriers and use the team around her to achieve her wild and crazy goals.

All of her lessons and learnings are applicable to business, life in general, or any specific goal.

It was a fabulous conversation!

Here’s a summary of what we discussed:

05:30 - her first big crazy goal

08:20 - the difference between the marathon and ironman

11:28 - her sense of purpose for running

17:00 - when the sense of purpose takes over

26:29 - how to embrace the setbacks

31:30 - the importance of having the team

43:56 - learning to trust the gut and our inner voice

46:37 - the importance of applying our learnings

50:26 - the value of purpose, love and impact

And much more…

Here’s some information about our guest:

Alexandra Andre

Marathoner, IRONMAN Finisher, Coach, Author, Speaker and Solo Mum.

Alexandra attributes a large part of her journey to her 1st Marathon because achieving it invited her to see the world for its possibilities. And to not let limitations (self imposed or otherwise) ever truly limit us.

She believes we are all more capable than we could ever imagine, and we owe it to ourselves and the world, to live our potential.

Her book, The Power of Possibility has been described as a must-read for anyone, but particularly runners and those with a big goal in mind.

Something Interesting About You

I raised over $10,000 for the Myeloma Australia Foundation when I dedicated an IRONMAN event to a good friend. It was at the time the biggest single fundraiser they'd received and the most purposeful thing I'd ever done.

What Are You Famous For?

My encouragement. A friend kindly shared that with me recently - she said when she thinks of me she thinks of being encouraged. And I guess it just comes naturally for me. I believe it's the biggest gift we can give someone - our encouragement.
